In the early morning hours of Wednesday, June 15, 2011, the sounds of gunshots shattered the pre-dawn stillness in the 300 block of Delafield Place, NW in Washington, D.C. When Fourth District police units arrived at approximately 1:04 a.m., they discovered a man inside an apartment suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency medical personnel rushed the victim to a local hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced dead.
