Do you know who murdered Marcellus Darnaby?
In the early morning hours of Wednesday, June 15, 2011, the sounds of gunshots shattered the pre-dawn stillness in the 300 block of Delafield Place, NW in Washington, D.C. When Fourth District police units arrived at approximately 1:04 a.m., they discovered a man inside an apartment suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency medical personnel rushed the victim to a local hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced dead.
The deceased was identified as 32-year-old Marcellus J. Darnaby, a male of no fixed address. Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department's Homicide Branch began an investigation into the fatal shooting.
In the wake of his death, the Metropolitan Police Department issued a public appeal for assistance, seeking any information that could lead to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for Darnaby's murder. As of now, there have been no public announcements regarding any arrests or the identification of any suspects in connection with the shooting death of Marcellus Darnaby.
