On August 26, 1993, Benson County Deputy Sheriff Valence LeeWayne Pascal was tragically killed in the line of duty at the young age of 26. The incident occurred in Leeds, North Dakota, when Pascal was transporting a man he had arrested for failing to appear in court on a DUI charge.
