On July 29, 2022, in Glen Ullin, North Dakota, a fatal shooting occurred involving 26-year-old Mathew Ward and 19-year-old Tyler Raines. The incident stemmed from an argument over money between the two men. During the confrontation, Raines fired a shot into the ground before shooting Ward in the chest with a .22-caliber handgun. Ward succumbed to his injuries while en route to the hospital.
