The death of 25-year-old Austin Strom on August 17, 2024, occurred under tragic and complex circumstances in the parking lot of Prairie Heights Church in West Fargo, North Dakota. Strom, a member of the church, was reportedly sleeping in the parking lot when a 66-year-old church volunteer, Kent Hodges, arrived early that morning, mistakenly believing it was Sunday.
