Thad Fumio Sugai, a 26-year-old officer with the Hawaii State Security Division, was tragically killed on December 20, 1983, while responding to a disturbance at Diamond Head Crater in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Hikers in the crater had reported a naked man behaving erratically, throwing rocks, and jumping on cars.
