On June 7, 1981, in Tallassee, Alabama, 13-year-old Angela "Angie" Bonita Truitt was tragically killed by her father, Ronnie Rex Truitt. Following the decision to divorce, Angela's mother, Rita, along with family members, went to their residence at 205 Central Boulevard to collect personal belongings. As they prepared to leave, Ronnie appeared at the back door armed with a 12-gauge shotgun and shot Angela twice in the back, resulting in her death.
