On August 26, 2002, in Luverne, Alabama, 40-year-old Willie Edward Haslip was tragically killed in a mass shooting that claimed the lives of six individuals. The incident occurred at the Ball family farm, where Haslip resided with his common-law wife, Joanne Ball, and their children.
