Martaveous Wilson, a 24-year-old male, was killed by gunfire in Birmingham, Alabama on July 21, 2007, in a summer when violence seemed to hover over the city like heat off the pavement. That day ended with police and medics converging on a house at 845 42nd Place North, where Wilson had been shot inside.
