In the early morning hours of March 8, 2014, a dispute outside a Huddle House restaurant in Alexander City, Alabama, tragically ended the life of 21-year-old Emerson Crayton, Jr., a Black male. Responding to reports of a fight between two men, an Alexander City police officer arrived on the scene and attempted to intervene. During the encounter, Crayton entered his vehicle.
