On April 17, 2014, 67-year-old Morris Gene Ervin was found unresponsive in his Carbon Hill, Alabama, residence around 9:30 p.m. Authorities determined he had been fatally shot. At the time, no suspects were identified, and investigators sought public assistance to solve the case.
