In the quiet town of Carbon Hill, Alabama, the first of May in 2018 brought with it a darkness that would forever alter the lives of many. On that day, 56-year-old Allen Clifford Sandlin, a local man, was found shot to death. His body was discovered alongside that of 55-year-old Hernan Antonio Padilla at Padilla's home, the scene of a brutal double homicide.
