On May 24, 2015, 18-year-old African American male Rodriquez Smith was fatally shot in a reported shootout at Smiley Court in Montgomery, Alabama. The incident occurred around 7 p.m. when Montgomery police and fire medics responded to reports of gunfire in the 3800 block of East Smiley Court. Smith was among four individuals who sustained gunshot wounds during the altercation.
