On August 7, 2015, 24-year-old Jacob Parker was fatally shot in Theodore, Alabama. The incident occurred when Parker and his friend, 23-year-old Carlos Heard, were handling a firearm at a residence. According to the Mobile County Sheriff's Office, Heard was playing with the gun when it discharged, striking Parker.
