On April 12, 2020, 22-year-old Alvin "Ba-Ba" Dees Jr. was fatally shot at Peppertree Estates, an apartment complex on Sperry Road in Theodore, Alabama. Responding to the incident around 11:08 a.m., Mobile police officers found Dees suffering from a gunshot wound; he was transported to a hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
