In the quiet community of Madison, Alabama, the life of 40-year-old Karieem Robinson, a male formerly of Newark, New Jersey, was tragically cut short on September 22, 2015. His death was the result of a violent encounter that also claimed the life of a woman and left her daughter wounded.
Authorities investigating the incident determined that the event was a murder-suicide.
According to the Madison County Sheriff's Office, a 36-year-old woman from Decatur shot Robinson and her own 14-year-old daughter before taking her own life. The teenager, despite her injuries, was able to call for help, and first responders found her alive at the scene.
The investigation revealed a tumultuous relationship between the woman and Robinson. Text messages and other evidence indicated a history of domestic disputes, which tragically escalated on that Tuesday afternoon.
