Death by Force

On March 3, 2016, 52-year-old John Keith Smith was found dead in his residence on Alabama Avenue West in LaFayette, Alabama. Authorities determined that Smith had been shot and killed by his nephew, Casey Smith, who was 30 years old at the time. Following the shooting, Casey Smith and his girlfriend, Amber Hancock, stole the victim's car and fled the scene. They were later apprehended by Auburn police, leading to their arrest and subsequent charges of capital murder.
