Eric Calloway, 42, male and Black, was shot and killed on Friday night, September 19, 2025, in LaFayette, Alabama, near the Lanett–LaFayette High School football stadium along Alabama Avenue East. Police and EMS were dispatched around 8:30–8:40 p.m. to the corner of Alabama Avenue East and 7th Street NE, where officers found Calloway with multiple gunshot wounds; lifesaving efforts, including CPR, were attempted, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
