On March 25, 2016, in Greenhill, Alabama, 48-year-old Elizabeth Janie Woods was fatally shot by her husband, Charlie Monroe Woods Sr., at their residence on Lauderdale County Road 130. The couple's two sons, Casey and Charles Bentley, both in their twenties, were also shot and sustained injuries requiring surgery at Huntsville Hospital.
