On June 17, 2016, at approximately 12:32 a.m., the Demopolis Police Department responded to a reported shooting at a residence on Herbert Street in Demopolis, Alabama. Upon arrival, officers discovered 40-year-old Joseph Shane Goodwin suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Marengo County Coroner.
