In the early morning hours of June 17, 2016, the quiet of a Herbert Street residence in Demopolis, Alabama, was shattered by the sound of a gunshot. When police arrived at approximately 12:32 a.m., they discovered 40-year-old Joseph Shane Goodwin, a White male, suffering from a fatal gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Marengo County Coroner.
