On October 2, 2016, 20-year-old Danthony Sanchez Means was fatally shot at a residence in Theodore, Alabama. Responding to reports of a shooting, Mobile police arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation. Within hours, 17-year-old Trenteon King was arrested and charged with murder in connection to Means' death. This incident marked the 24th homicide in Mobile for the year 2016.
