On February 16, 2017, 68-year-old Mary Williams Faulk was found shot to death in her home in Semmes, Alabama. Authorities quickly identified her 13-year-old great-grandson as the primary suspect, along with a 15-year-old accomplice and 19-year-old Erick James Toomer. The trio was apprehended in Grand Bay, Alabama, approximately 20 miles from the crime scene, after fleeing in Faulk's vehicle and attempting to evade capture by running into nearby woods.
