On February 27, 2017, 27-year-old Nicholas Tyler Bolling of Andalusia, Alabama, died from a gunshot wound in Coffee County. The incident occurred at the intersection of U.S. Highway 84 East and County Road 501, where Elba Police responded to reports of a shooting just after 4 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found Bolling's coworkers performing CPR; emergency responders from Coffee County EMS took over upon their arrival. Bolling was subsequently pronounced dead at Medical Center Enterprise.
