On May 27, 2017, 22-year-old Xavier Thomas was fatally shot in Brundidge, Alabama. The incident occurred at the Brundidge Retirement Center on Walding Circle, where Thomas was a passenger in a vehicle when someone opened fire on him. He was subsequently transported to Troy Regional Medical Center by a relative but succumbed to his injuries.
