On May 29, 2017, 45-year-old Chadrick Harold Kornegay was fatally shot in the front yard of his home in Sweet Water, Alabama. First responders were dispatched to the Half Acre community following reports of a male who had been shot in the chest. Despite medical efforts, Kornegay succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
