Joshua Moody, a 23-year-old man from Piedmont, Alabama, was found dead on July 23, 2017, in what authorities later confirmed was a homicide. Moody's body was discovered at a residence on County Road 31, near Piedmont, after a report of a shooting. Law enforcement responded to the scene and found that Moody had suffered gunshot wounds, leading them to investigate the case as a murder.
