On July 25, 2017, 26-year-old Edward Lamar Davis, known as "Lil Man," was fatally shot during a domestic altercation in Birmingham, Alabama. The incident occurred at a residence on 10th Avenue near Frisco Street in the Wylam neighborhood. Davis and his nephew, 20-year-old Devonte Desmond Bembo, became involved in a physical confrontation that escalated when Bembo retrieved a firearm and shot Davis.
