In the early morning hours of Friday, October 2, 2009, a life was tragically cut short on the streets of Washington, D.C. Eddie Rapheal Blocker, a male, was shot and killed in front of 1512 18th Street, SE, at approximately 4:19 am. The incident left a void in the lives of his loved ones, including his daughter, Edniya, his parents, Charlene Blocker and Eddie Harris, and his siblings, Lakisa, Alexis, and Jamal Blocker. He was also the fiancé of Krystle Amos.
The Metropolitan Police Department responded to the scene and launched a homicide investigation into Mr. Blocker's death. Detectives from the Homicide Branch were assigned to the case, seeking to piece together the events that led to the fatal shooting.
Despite their efforts, the circumstances surrounding the shooting and the motive behind it have remained elusive.
