On the night of March 24, 2018, 27-year-old African American male Jamarion Deandre Edwards was fatally shot on Watkins Court in Troy, Alabama. Police responded to the scene just before midnight, finding the area crowded with bystanders. Edwards was pronounced dead at the scene from a gunshot wound. The Troy Police Department initiated a homicide investigation, identifying a person of interest but withholding the individual's identity pending further inquiry.
