In the early hours of a Friday morning in Montgomery, Alabama, the life of 25-year-old Timothy Leondre Martinez was cut short by an act of violence. On June 15, 2018, Martinez was found suffering from a gunshot wound and was later pronounced dead at a local hospital. Another male victim was also shot and sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The shooting occurred in the midtown area of the city.
An investigation into the homicide was launched by the Montgomery Police Department. Their efforts led to the identification of a suspect, D'Angelo De'Andre Spencer. Within days of the fatal shooting, Spencer was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force.
Following his arrest, D'Angelo De'Andre Spencer was charged with capital murder in connection with the death of Timothy Martinez. He was subsequently booked into the Montgomery County Detention Facility. The case then moved into the judicial system for prosecution.
