In the late afternoon of September 21, 2018, events took a tragic turn for Tia Kelly, a 42-year-old Black woman from Huntsville, Alabama. What began as a domestic disturbance at her home on Whitestone Drive would end in her untimely death. Police were dispatched to the residence around 3:30 p.m. following a call about the disturbance. Upon their arrival, they discovered Ms. Kelly suffering from critical gunshot wounds.
