On January 8, 2019, 43-year-old Latywen Guanchez Caster was found deceased in his Mount Vernon, Alabama, home. His mother discovered his body inside a closet after not hearing from him for several days. Initial reports indicated that Caster had suffered blunt force trauma to his face and head. Subsequent autopsy results revealed that he died from a gunshot wound to the head and manual strangulation.
