On January 13, 2019, at approximately 1:16 a.m., San Jose police responded to reports of a shooting near Parkmoor Avenue and Race Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered 41-year-old Matthew Cintas suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter.
