On August 5, 2010, John Edwards, aged 58, was fatally shot in the 1300 block of Good Hope Road, SE, Washington, D.C. The incident occurred at approximately 3:20 AM, and officers from the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) were dispatched to the scene following reports of gunfire. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, Edwards was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
