On March 28, 2019, 60-year-old William Allen Brantley of Elkmont, Alabama, was fatally shot during a confrontation on Rooker Lane near Oak Grove Road. The incident stemmed from a prolonged property dispute between Brantley and 64-year-old Kenneth Wayne Adams.
