On the evening of May 27, 2019, Mobile police responded to a distress call at a residence on Magnolia Road in Mobile, Alabama. Upon arrival, officers discovered 40-year-old Selwondra Pugh, an African American woman, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was immediately transported to the hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
Investigators determined that the fatal shooting occurred during a domestic dispute between Selwondra Pugh and her boyfriend, 42-year-old Jason Cooley.
