On June 15, 2019, in Gadsden, Alabama, 33-year-old Amber Lee Gattis was fatally shot in the head. Deputies from the Etowah County Sheriff's Office responded to a call at 7:21 p.m. on McCluney Street, where they discovered Gattis with a critical gunshot wound. She was initially transported to Gadsden Regional Medical Center and subsequently airlifted to UAB Hospital in Birmingham, where she succumbed to her injuries.
