In the summer of 2019, the life of 33-year-old Amber Lee Gattis was tragically cut short in Gadsden, Alabama. On the evening of June 15th, authorities responded to a call at a residence on McCluney Street, where they found Amber with a gunshot wound to her head. She was immediately transported to Gadsden Regional Medical Center and subsequently airlifted to UAB Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The investigation into her death swiftly led to an arrest.
Amber's husband, 46-year-old Larry Allen Gattis, was taken into custody in connection with the fatal shooting. He was officially charged with murder and booked into the Etowah County Jail. His bond was set at $100,000. At the time of this arrest, his release was also revoked on two prior charges of unlawful possession of a controlled substance from 2015. The Etowah County Sheriff's Office confirmed that the investigation into the circumstances surrounding Amber's death was ongoing.
