On January 2, 2024, in Gadsden, Alabama, 45-year-old Brandi Howell Whitt and her 9-year-old son, Brantley, were fatally shot in their home on Glen Gap Road in the Tabor-Highland community. Authorities responded to a 911 call around 10 p.m., where they discovered both victims with gunshot wounds. Despite emergency responders' efforts, both were pronounced dead at the scene.
