On August 2, 2019, 24-year-old TraVakius Quanashad Maye, a resident of Birmingham, Alabama, was shot and killed in what authorities later described as a targeted homicide. The tragic incident unfolded in the 4200 block of 30th Court North, a neighborhood in the northern part of the city.
