In the early morning hours of Saturday, April 2, 2011, the body of 60-year-old Kirk Alan Garnes, an African-American male, was discovered. At approximately 8:09 a.m., authorities found Mr. Garnes in the rear of 5510 3rd Street, NE, in Washington, D.C. It was apparent that he had been the victim of an assault.
