On July 8, 2015, William Clemments Herndon, a 24-year-old resident of Southeast Washington, D.C., was shot and killed near the intersection of 45th and Ponds Streets, NE. The incident occurred at approximately 12:35 AM, and police responded to reports of gunshots in the area. Upon arrival, officers found Herndon unconscious and unresponsive, suffering from gunshot wounds.
