Death by Force

On February 2, 2020, in Harvest, Alabama, five-year-old Maxton Layne Hughes tragically lost his life in an accidental shooting. Maxton, the son of a Huntsville police officer, discovered a firearm in the family vehicle and unintentionally shot himself in the head. Upon finding him, a parent rushed Maxton to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Authorities conducted an investigation into the incident, but no charges were anticipated.
