Sheriff's deputies responded to a call at a residence on Lockport Drive around 10:45 p.m. Upon their arrival, they discovered Craig suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the immediate efforts of HEMSI and volunteer firefighters, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation into the fatal shooting quickly identified a suspect who was known to Craig.
The alleged shooter was 35-year-old Sean Justin Burns. Investigators determined that both men were present at the residence when an altercation escalated, resulting in the fatal shooting.
