In the early evening of a Wednesday in Mobile, Alabama, a dispute between two men escalated into deadly violence, leaving both of them fatally wounded. The incident unfolded on February 12, 2020, at approximately 8:40 p.m. inside the Walmart Neighborhood Market located at 2570 Government Boulevard.
Jaquess Thompson, a 21-year-old male, and 44-year-old Seantatis Kirksey were involved in an altercation that took a tragic turn when both men drew firearms and shot one another.
Both Thompson and Kirksey sustained life-threatening injuries during the exchange of gunfire.
Emergency services were dispatched to the scene, and both men were transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, both Jaquess Thompson and Seantatis Kirksey succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced dead. The Mobile Police Department investigated the incident, confirming that no customers or store employees were harmed during the shooting. The investigation determined that the incident was a result of the altercation between the two men.
