On the night of July 10, 2020, around 10:50 p.m., Montgomery Police Department officers responded to a shooting incident in the 6300 block of Atlanta Highway. Upon arrival, they discovered 20-year-old Bernard Hardy Jr. suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. Hardy was promptly transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
