In the quiet town of Satsuma, Alabama, the life of 49-year-old Brent Allen was brought to a tragic and violent end on December 6, 2020. A resident of Satsuma, Allen was gunned down in the driveway of his parents' home on Bayou East, the victim of a meticulously planned murder-for-hire plot. His death stemmed from a dark and long-held grudge harbored by a man hundreds of miles away.
The investigation into Allen's murder quickly uncovered a conspiracy rooted in a past grievance.
At the center of the plot was Jason Christopher Hill, a 48-year-old man from Ellabell, Georgia. Hill was convinced that Allen had sexually assaulted his wife when she was a teenager. This belief festered for years, ultimately leading Hill to orchestrate Allen's murder. He hired a private investigator to track Allen down and then enlisted his own uncle, Wayne Beasley, to carry out the killing.
Beasley, 52, traveled over five hours from his home in Georgia to execute the plan. Hill provided him with a rifle equipped with a silencer, ammunition, masks, and a bullet-proof vest. On that December evening, Beasley ambushed Allen, shooting him multiple times. For his role in the murder, Beasley was allegedly paid $2,000 by Hill. Beasley's girlfriend, 38-year-old Jennifer Hudson, was also implicated in the crime.
Within ten days of the shooting, investigators were able to unravel the plot and identify the key players. All three individuals, Jason Christopher Hill, Wayne Beasley, and Jennifer Hudson, were arrested and faced charges of capital murder for hire. In September 2023, Jason Christopher Hill was convicted for his role in orchestrating the murder. He was subsequently sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. His appeal of the conviction was denied in September 2024, solidifying his fate. Wayne Beasley and Jennifer Hudson were also taken into custody, with Beasley being held on a $250,000 bond. Hudson was initially released on bond but was later re-arrested following a grand jury indictment.
