In the early morning hours of Saturday, August 3, 2024, a burst of gunfire shattered the peace in the NoMa area of Northeast Washington, D.C., leaving a scene of chaos and tragedy. When Metropolitan Police Department officers, who were near the unit block of M Street, Northeast, heard the gunshots at approximately 1:06 a.m., they rushed to the location. There they discovered a grim scene with four individuals suffering from gunshot wounds.
Among the victims was 33-year-old Antonio Williams, a male resident of Capitol Heights, Maryland, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Alongside him, 18-year-old Terrell Osbourne Jr. of Northwest, D.C., also lost his life in the shooting. Two other victims, a man and a woman, were transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries. The incident was part of a particularly violent night in the District.
The investigation into the double homicide is ongoing, with authorities actively seeking information from the public.
As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting. Detectives have identified a suspect vehicle, a white 2019 Honda Accord, that was captured on surveillance footage in the vicinity of the crime. The Metropolitan Police Department is offering a reward of up to $50,000 for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the deaths of Antonio Williams and Terrell Osbourne Jr. The shooting has left the local community with a sense of unease regarding the safety of their neighborhood.
