On a cool autumn evening in Washington, D.C., the life of 23-year-old William Deon Howard was cut short by gunfire. On Saturday, October 26, 2013, at approximately 11:14 p.m., the sound of gunshots pierced the night in the 3000 block of Stanton Road, Southeast. When officers from the Metropolitan Police Department arrived at the scene, they discovered Howard and a woman, both suffering from gunshot wounds.
