On October 3, 2022, in Mobile, Alabama, 13-year-old Ja'mil Dewayne Lewis Autry was fatally shot in his home. Authorities responded to the residence on Jones Lane around 11 p.m., discovering Ja'mil with a gunshot wound to his back. He was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
