On January 9, 2023, at approximately 6:37 PM, the Jackson County 911 Center received a call reporting a shooting on County Road 147 in Stevenson, Alabama. Upon arrival, officers from the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, Stevenson Police Department, and Hollywood Police Department discovered 54-year-old Jack Edward "Bubber" Thompson lying on the front porch, deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.
