In the quiet community of Aaronville in Foley, Alabama, a dispute escalated to a fatal conclusion for Walter Daniel McDonald. On a January day, the 38-year-old man was shot once in the leg, an injury that would ultimately prove deadly.
The incident, which occurred on the 1600 block of South Oak Street, was reportedly the result of an argument between McDonald and the family of Consuela Minor.
Following a report of gunshots, Foley police arrived to find McDonald suffering from a single gunshot wound. He was quickly airlifted to University Hospital for emergency medical treatment. Despite the efforts of medical staff, who took him into surgery and then moved him to the ICU, McDonald succumbed to his injuries the following day, January 16, 2023.
In the wake of his death, authorities arrested 49-year-old Consuela Minor of Daphne. She was subsequently charged with manslaughter. Investigators have indicated that the investigation is ongoing, with the possibility of additional charges and further arrests as they continue to piece together the events that led to McDonald's untimely death.
