On January 15, 2023, in Foley, Alabama, police responded to reports of gunshots in the 1600 block of South Oak Street. Upon arrival, they discovered 38-year-old Walter Daniel McDonald with a single gunshot wound to his leg. Emergency medical services transported McDonald to South Baldwin Regional Medical Center, after which he was airlifted to University Hospital. Despite undergoing surgery and being placed in the Intensive Care Unit, McDonald succumbed to his injuries on January 16, 2023.
